Rendered Masterplan – Master plans illustrate the design in its setting, show relationship with vicinity and convey architectural vision for the site.

Rendered color site plans and master plans are the most commonly used in all architecture and planning related professions. Overall site plan is an essential element of every document, presentation and submission.

Even though each project contains at least one plan view there are different types of master plans depending on the character of the project.

The main purpose for many master plans is to carry important information about the site and relation between elements of the site, these have usually more diagrammatic look. They use many contrasting colors, line types and hatches to make it easier to read information that is often overlaid one on top of another.

The other type of master plans is generally more illustrative. The main purpose here is to present the intention of the designer, emphase the values of the project, show the relationship between the site and its vicinity, show environmental setting.

Please see below to examples of two different master plans that were created for our clients at Aka-Graphics.com

'Before and After' - convey the look and feel of site after improvements

‘Before and After’ graphics are a suggestive way of presenting your client how the completed project may look like without going into too much detail and without making any commitments. The main purpose of this type of graphics is to stimulate imagination of viewers, to convey the vision of proposed look and feel of the site and the same time leave the subject open to interpretation. It is much like reading a book – each reader gets the same message but every individual visualizes it differently using their imagination. This is most helpful at early stage of project development.

3D Concept - broad brush design in urban environment

3D concept graphics are simple, clean drawings that help to illustrate and present issues related to massing, proportions and hierarchy, especially in urban environment. They are a great way of convey your vision for large scale public art pieces, gateway features and custom made streetscape furniture.

Apart from being an efficient tool in presenting your broad brush concepts they are also helpful in creating bases for more sophisticated and detailed graphics used at the later stage of design process.

Illustrative cross sections - information and aesthetics

Illustrative cross sections just like the traditional ones on construction level, serve as a way of presenting relationships and distances between elements of the project, heights and width and slope profile. Unlike the tradional they have another layer that speaks directly about estetical values of your design. Our cross sections show the actual species of trees and shrubs, landscape color pallete relations r what your site will look like in different seasons. Ilustrative cross sections tend to soften the look of traffic corridors, large urban developments and industrail sites. Finally, they have their semi-photorealistic look makes it is easier to understand for people without architectural background.

Apart from aesthetical values illustrative cross sections can still deliver the same information as the more traditional CAD ones. Dimensions, spot elevations, describtions, legal lines can all be overlayed with the illustration to make it as versatile as possible.
